Form the Director of Programs at Urban TXT - Teens Exploring Technology. TXT is a non-profit organization that teaches Black and Brown boys how to become tech entrepreneurs by learning how to code and leading the creation of mobile apps to improve their community. We wanted to share an opportunity for the students at Luis Valdez Leadership Academy to participate in our Summer Coding Leadership Academy before the Friday March 19th deadline.
While currently based out of Los Angeles, California, we are hoping to expand our operations and serve high school communities in the San Jose region. Given San Jose’s central location as a technology hub, we believe that it is critical to develop the tech entrepreneurs of the future. In particular, we seek to provide the mentorship to Black and Brown boys to address the racial disparities that we see in the current technology sector.
This FREE 8-week Summer program will take place virtually and the winning team will win $2,000. Above you will find a flyer with more details and a link to apply. Please feel free to share with any students, parents, teachers, or counselors.
